I Love your Legs by Louis Loizides Mitsu |
Emma watched him as he moved across the balcony, talking into his phone. She sipped her wine and indulged in the opportunity to stare at this gorgeous man without fear of getting caught. His blond hair was ruffled where he kept running his hand through it. They had gone to dinner straight after work and were now back at her place. This was not the first date and she was ready to take it further, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion. She smiled to herself and pulled out her phone, it took only minutes for the messages to be exchanged and she was just putting her phone away when he rejoined her on the couch.
"Sorry about that," he apologised as he topped up their glasses. "I've turned it off now, so no more interruptions. I'm all yours." He smiled at her and she felt herself flush.
"As tempting as that sounds, I hope you're up for one last interruption." She held his gaze, pausing as she let him wonder. "I have a feeling you won't mind."
Mrs A stood at the door in a short black dress and heels, her hair long and loose around her shoulders. She gave Emma a lingering, soft kiss before following her inside.
"This should be fun," she smiled at Emma when she saw what was waiting inside.
When the introductions had been made and drinks topped up, Emma nodded at Mrs A, who turned her attention to the man in front of her.
"Forgive me for intruding on your date. I promise I will leave you two alone soon. Do you know why I'm here?"
"There is no need to apologise, Mrs A. As Emma predicted, I don't mind. In fact, I'm quite intrigued." The slight smile and eyes bright with excitement reminded her of her husband - that had to be a good sign.
"It seems my friend is very taken by you, and I can certainly see why. You may know that Emma and I are quite close. We have a special relationship..." she paused for a moment, "we sometimes like to have fun together." She waited again, letting the words sink in. "Do you think that would be a problem for you?"
To his credit, his eyes never left hers and his face betrayed nothing. The only clue that he had understood her meaning was in his eyes. They burned with heat and she felt her pulse quicken.
"It would be a crazy man that would stand in the way of a gorgeous woman and her equally gorgeous special friend," he spoke softly. "I've been called a lot of things...crazy is not one of them."
